As the weather gets worse, & the very real threat of violence against protesters looms ever present, please remember that these folks could use many supplies, food, clean dry blankets, & just some sign that someone cares & supports them.
Thanksgiving is just days away please let’s show the brave souls out there that we are grateful for them! Sign up volunteer, donate, just get out there & do SOMETHING!
We are not set up to accept donations, I guess gift cards would be good so other volunteers could drive to Costco, or Value Village has gift cards to be able to buy dry bedding & blankets, or other supplies, or you could clean out your closets or attics & maybe find something in there protestors could use. we are currently trying to find an agency that can set up a bank account & distribute funds so there is no funny business going on.
Restaurants, stores, & small businesses are welcome to join in the efforts to maybe streamline the efforts. Please contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org or call me at 425-319-3298 7 let’s see what we can do. If you are a non-profit that is listed on Charity Navigator with good standing we would appreciate hearing from you to help as well. Donations can be made to me or to Finally home Ministries, but I would prefer no cash, just supplies, or gift cards. I am not set up for cash yet & would prefer an outside party handle any of that.
Remember there is a storm blowing in right now, please pray for our “domestic warriors this evening”.
I want to streamline a volunteer board so that we can get basic supplies to our protestors, Thanksgiving is coming, it would be nice if we could plan a nice dinner for those who are sacrificing so much… It doesn’t take a lot of cash, it doesn’t take a lot of effort, just some of your time, to show that you care. I will be in the process of finding an agency that can set up a bank account to receive funds & that can purchase supplies & okay payments so nothing gets lost or misused. Any companies that want to sign up to donate supplies please feel free to do so. Gift cards for Costco, or Value Village would be a good idea as well. Might I suggest tat you go directly to the encampments as they have group leaders who will be able to better tell you what the needs are & can possibly help with distribution of needed items.
Think occasionally of the suffering of which you spare yourself the sight of….
