How 1000 people can change WA State.

A dysfunctional government? Solution: the PEOPLE! Specifically, a thousand people. And we shall call these thousand people “signature gatherers”. And these “signature gatherers” will change our future.

I think we have been trying to solve our problems concerning our corrupt government using the wrong tools. For many of us, including me, the belief was in our justice system as the proper way to achieve justice and to right wrongs. But that avenue proved a false hope and in fact just added more fuel to the fire as our justice system is run by a bunch of criminals. Then I looked to my state representative, Senator Jan Angel, hoping she would exercise her constitutional power – a power specifically given to our elected representatives to address government corruption and the harm corrupt judges inflicted upon people by a failed justice system. But Jan Angel is either incompetent or feigns ignorance so as to side-step her duty to investigate and correct government fraud and corruption….

Long story made short…. when the core problem is a dysfunctional and corrupt government any avenue that relies upon a ‘public servant’ to address and fix the problems is likely a waist of time, hope, faith and years of your life.

The solution: the PEOPLE! Specifically, a thousand people. And we shall call these thousand people “signature gatherers”. And these “signature gatherers” will collect about 300 signatures.

Three hundred signatures? But for what, you ask? With one thousand people who gather 300 signatures we can do any one or more of the following …

  • To remove from office those public servants who betray our trust – and I’d target our head lawyer, the Attorney General. If he did his job, we wouldn’t be in such a mess today because he would have prosecuted all the corrupt public servants before they ruined our state government.
  • To pass laws. And I’d recommend, as a start, a law giving any citizen the right to address a Grand Jury to bring indictments against any corrupt public servant.
  • To repeal laws. And I’d recommend repealing the WA State Bar Act as a good start.
  • How do we get 1000 people to get 300 signatures? Good question and I’ve been trying to convince “Religious” organizations to encourage their parishioners to volunteer as ‘signature gatherers’, with no success. In fact the Seattle Archbishop, Peter Sartain, doesn’t even return my emails or phone calls…. hmmmmm!

    Your thoughts?

    1. Don’t go losing your hope or your mind. You are on the right track by turning to the public, but you need to calm down and strategize. We must be able to package the message in ways
that will more easily be grasped and felt… and then recruit the signature operatives. Operatives then need to be deployed at target locations and times. Grass roots organizing must use sophisticated organizational tactics.

      • Agree… advice, direction, ideas …

PS. While I don’t, and won’t, lose hope, my mind has left the building years ago. So please add your brainpower to this effort.

        • Slow down. Redirect focus. Build alliances. Expand communicative power. Create safe ways for people to participate via social media… like intellectual flash mobs from public WiFi locations… or renegade print campaigns… or reaching out to public employees who are not happy with the storylines behind union contracts and legit grievances swept under the rug of perceived liability reduction.

        • Yes, the key to an effect effort is that we focus on one ‘villain’ with which all of us can claim as the biggest player in our individual case. The reason corruption has gotten so out of hand is that citizens are abused from every direction by every state agency and on a one-to-one basis. What we need to do is to peel back the layers of the rotten onion to see who sits at the center… From my work, at the center of the rotten onion are lawyers — lawyers for insurance companies, lawyers for gov. agencies, lawyers who are judges AND the lawyers who regulate lawyers – the WSBA. This doesn’t mean all lawyers are corrupt, but all lawyers have a duty to “self-regulate” and if I’m right about who sits at the core, then “self-regulation” has failed as good and ethical lawyers have seen it in their interest to remain on the sidelines. And I understand why…. case in point Doug Schafer — he DID his duty and was destroyed by the WSBA and the WA State Supreme Court. THIS is compelling evidence of who is destroying our society — lawyers in regulatory functions. This, in my view, is the “villain” – the WSBA/Supreme Ct.

On the ‘tactics’ side of how to “reach into the Supreme Court and hold them accountable” there are many tools — legislative power under Art 4, Sect 9; Art 5, sec 1,2; People power under Art 2, Sec 1; perhaps legal action if you can find an honest and COURAGEOUS judge; grassroots power and all the tactics that we can devise.

So I don’t see reason to “hold back” in using any of the tools we have… but agree that a coordinated effort would make more of an impact in whatever tool we use.

        • Villainy lies in motives. Motives exist within environments. Thus, judges are symptoms of forces greater than themselves. Fear. They can’t all be bad people. The force of law ultimately is truth. It is not necessarily up to the judges. It’s up to the truth tellers to tell the truth. That is all that we can do. Are there ways that you can more efficiently project your truth out into the world?

        • Had to think about that comment … ‘fear, truth, environment, forces…’ And I believe you are absolutely correct…. the environment today is ‘fear of the truth’. Admitting a mistake is a truthful act but the consequence is legal culpability – hence there is fear of being truthful in being legally liable. This creates an ignoble cycle of conduct in which dishonest protects dishonest.

So the object is to create an environment in which the consequences of lying are so horrific, the “truth is the better option” or that the virtue in being truthful is so honored there is no reason to be untruthful.

        • There has been a coup. Part of the strategy has been to infiltrate state politics with $. They have world-class financing. They use the financing for both physical and social engineering. They use “team building” strategies which amount to the systematic dissemination of well packaged information. To really get into the game, we must package and distribute our message. The message has to be clear, but not weighted with too many facts. It also has to be associated with pleasure or the removal of pain.

        • Except the notion of having a message based upon “pleasure or the removal of pain”, I agree. If “truth” is the objective, then the message must be how “untruthful” people, and the harm their lies inflict upon others, have no place in a civilized society. The $$$ that are being spent and the schemes being orchestrated by firms such as Marsh and McLennan will fizzle when people hear how these $$$ are being used and by whom. Link a real person to the schemes and base the strategy upon holding that one person accountable. Who knows, that ‘person’ may be Justice Madsen… clearly two of these schemers are Cam Comfort and Zachary Mosner, both WSBA Associates who are serving in the Attorney Generals office. Bring ‘sunshine’ on them and let’s see how much $$$ are needed to save their jobs.

        • you are eminating burnout. take a break. stop self deprecating. Nobody will follow somebody who is giving off signs of anxiety and openly admitting mental issues. collect yourself and then spend some time synthesizing and planning. You have been a bit too long at sea. that may be the price for being free, but you can still reward yourself with a picnic on the beach… and then come back energized. I hope that this helps, Ivan

        • Ivan, you’re not the first person who has said this and you’re right, but I am who I am, and being as old as I am, slowing down isn’t going to make things happen in time to see the results. I certainly welcome those who can organize and plan in the way you suggest and will be a willing player in such an organized approach. But I’m full speed ahead as I cannot tolerate the level of incompetence/corruption that we have in government today and I must expose it and confront it when I recognize it.

        • What worked in Gold Bar could become a model for a wider approach. Where’s Block’s blog, for example. Perhaps provide a comfortable forum for gathering support. Give away free bumper stickers. Make a database of prospective signature helpers. Citizens will support ethical lawyers and judges who will slowly gain the political will to do what’s right. We need media channels that reach the right people.

        • Horror/Honor are not necessary. Doubt is powerful enough. People are weak and quickly unravel when their comforts are at risk… even lawyers. We have an advantage… it takes more energy to sustain imbalances than to upset them. They are elephants walking on beachballs.

        • Damn, you keep making great points. The “house of cards” notion that removing one will collapse the whole, I believe, is a valid approach. But let us assume, just for argument, that the house is held up by the top floor — ie the Supreme Court. As long as they are the ‘last word’, and not “the people”, there is no need for a foundation. How do you create “doubt” in the mind of the KINGS?

    3. http://www.makestickers.com/

I went to MakeStickers.com and made myself Bumperstickers. “CorruptWa.com”

I stuck it on my car in hopes for more people to come to this website. It is a slow process.

I must say however that most people just sweep things under the carpet, ignore probems or do not want to deal with it. Why do people do this? Mostly because people are scared or ignorant.

It is because of such inaction, corrupt individuals get away with things. I tried to say things about the corruption in my Condo Complex, nothing worked. These corrupt individuals gave me a bad name and turned it around that I’m the “troublemaker”.

Our so “elected, selected” leaders have become strong because they formed “one” group and you can’t get through.
And as many of you know they deal in the Real Estate business. And that is worth millions and millions of dollars.

How do we gather signatures? What do we say and what must they sign?

    4. That bumper sticker should read “Never Give Up Bill”…..tenacity is Power! Bill, you have many like-minded followers, and this idea rings a loud bell. There are sites online (perhaps Ivan can help here) that are petition-based and are getting hundreds of thousands of “hits” all the time. My favorite is Change.org (you know the NY Democratic Comittee used this site in the last gubernatorial election)….anyway, there is exposure available. Perhaps crafting a petition with all your beliefs is a step to consider (sign me up)….rock on!!!
